Absentee Voting

Anyone who is a Registered Voter may vote an Absentee Ballot in the Clerk's office.  You may vote by absentee ballot by mail in Whitley County if you are a Registered Voter of the Precinct where you reside, and you:

  • will be absent from the county of residence on election day
  • have election duties on election day
  • are confined on election day due to illness or injury
  • have disabilities
  • are 65 years of age or older
  • are a caretaker of an individual (s) confined to a private residence due to illness or injury
  • are scheduled to work for the entire 12 hours that the polls are open

Ways to Vote Absentee:

  1. Vote by mail: You can print the application here (ABS-MAIL) or request an application by calling the Clerk's office at 260-248-3164.  Once filled out you can return the application by mail, in-person, via fax at 260-248-3137 or email at wcclerk6@whitleygov.com.  We will then process it and confirm that you are a registered voter of this county. A ballot will be sent to you by mail no later than 8 days before the election. The deadline to receive absentee applications is Thursday, April 23, 2020. Military and Overseas Ballots will be sent to voters at an earlier date. (Call the Clerk's office for information @ 260-248-3164).
  1. Vote by Traveling Board: If you need assistance to vote, and would like a team to come to your home to help you vote, fill out the (ABS-TRAVELING BOARD) form and return it by mail, via fax at 260-248-3137 or email at wcclerk6@whitleygov.com. We would like to have these forms in our office by Friday, May 1, 2020. The Traveling Board will come to your home the Saturday before the election, May 2, 2020 between 8:30 am and 1:00 pm.
  1. To Absentee Vote in the Clerk's office: Come to the voter registration office located in the Courthouse, Second Floor, Room 18, voting hours are located below. You do not need a reason to vote absentee at the County Clerk's Office. Absentee voting ends at Noon the day before an election day. Be sure to bring your government issued photo ID with you.
Absentee Voting Hours:
Beginning Monday, April 7 to Friday, May 1, weekdays from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Saturdays April 25 & May 2 from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
Monday, May 4 from 8:00 am-12:00 pm LAST DAY
