Primary Election:
The primary election is the first Tuesday after the first Monday in May. The next Primary Election Day is Tuesday, May 7, 2019. The last day to register to vote for this election is Monday, April 8, 2019. 
General Election:
The general election is the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. The next General Election Day is Tuesday, November 5, 2019. The last day to register to vote for this election is Tuesday, October 7, 2019.

There will ONLY be a Municipal General Election in Columbia City in the Northeast District (Columbia 4, Columbia 6 & part of Columbia 8 (East of Wayne St)) on November 5, 2019.  There is no competition between any of the other offices.

There WILL be a Municipal General Election in South Whitley on November 5, 2019. 

There will NOT be elections held in Churubusco or Larwill, due to no competition between any offices.

In-Office Absentee Voting:
Located in the Voter Registration Office at the Whitley County Courthouse, 101 W Van Buren St, Room 18, Columbia City.  Photo I.D. is required.  You do not need a reason to vote absentee in-office.
Hours for the 2019 Municipal General Election:
Beginning Saturday, October 26 from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
Monday, October 28 to Friday, November 1 from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Saturday, November 2 from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
Monday, November 4 from 8:00 am-12:00 pm LAST DAY
Voting Absentee by Mail or Traveling Board:
If you would like to vote by mail or traveling board in the upcoming Columbia City Municipal Primary Election, you will need to print one of the applications below and return to our office by Thursday, October 24, 2019 (mail) or Friday, November 1, 2019 (traveling board).  You can return the forms by mail, in-person, via fax at 260-248-3137 or email at wcclerk6@whitleygov.com. You can also request an application be sent to you by calling the Voter Registration Office at 260-248-3164.

Filing will begin in January for 2020 candidates, forms will be added at a later date. Filing ended for Columbia City candidates on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. (NOON).  Filing ended for Churubusco, Larwill & South Whitley candidates on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. (NOON).
CAN-12 Statement of Economic Interests for Local and School Board Offices (everyone needs to file)
Pre-Election Campaign Finance (CFA-4) reports will be due for 2019 candidates and/or committees opened in 2019, by Friday, October 18, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. (NOON).  Filing a late CFA-4 form will result in fines of $50.00 per day assessed by the Whitley County Election Board.
