Primary Election:
The primary election is the first Tuesday after the first Monday in May. The next Primary Election Day is Tuesday, May 5, 2020. The last day to register to vote for this election is Monday, April 6, 2020. 
General Election:
The general election is the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. The next General Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2020. The last day to register to vote for this election is Tuesday, October 5, 2020.  

In-Office Absentee Voting:

Located in the Voter Registration Office at the Whitley County Courthouse, 101 W Van Buren St, Room 18, Columbia City.  Photo I.D. is required.  You do not need a reason to vote absentee in-office.
Hours for the 2020 Primary Election:
Beginning Monday, April 7, 2020 from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm to Friday, May 1, 2020, weekdays from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
(Closed Friday, April 10, 2020 for Good Friday)
Saturday, April 25, 2020 & Saturday, May 2, 2020 from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
Monday, May 4, 2020 from 8:00 am-12:00 pm LAST DAY
Voting Absentee by Mail or Traveling Board:
If you would like to vote by mail or traveling board in the upcoming Primary Election, you will need to print one of the applications below and return to our office by Thursday, April 23, 2020 (mail) or Friday, May 1, 2020 (traveling board).  You can return the forms by mail, in-person, via fax at 260-248-3137 or email at wcclerk6@whitleygov.com. You can also request an application be sent to you by calling the Voter Registration Office at 260-248-3164.

If you do not have a vote history or you would like to switch parties, you need to contact the party chairperson at least 48 hours prior to filing, for them to have time to fill out a form.

School Board Candidates have from Wednesday, July 22, 2020 until Friday, August 21, 2020 to file for candidacy.  You will need to file a CAN-34 petition, with 10 signatures from your school district and a CAN-12 form.  Whitley County Consolidated Schools & Smith-Green Community Schools need to file their petitions in Whitley County.  Whitko Community Schools will file their petitions in Kosciusko County.  Candidates will only need to file a CFA-1 form to open a committee if they spend or receive over $500.00.
Annual Campaign Finance (CFA-4) reports will be due for candidate's committees on the 2020 Primary Election ballot by Friday, April 17, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. (NOON).  Filing a late CFA-4 form will result in fines of $50.00 per day assessed by the Whitley County Election Board.
