Probation Department

The Whitley County Probation Department serves the Whitley Superior and Circuit Courts. We intervene in the lives of juvenile and adult offenders, holding them accountable and serving as a catalyst for positive change.  Our goal is to eliminate the propensity for delinquent and criminal behavior, in balance with the needs and safety of the community.
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Whitley County Probation Department is to provide necessary services to the offender to aid in reducing criminal and delinquent behavior through evidence-based practices while balancing the needs of the offender, holding them accountable, and ensuring the safety of the community.  Probation is a profession which requires fundamental knowledge of the law, sentencing alternatives, human services, and community protection.
