The Clerk of the Circuit and Superior Courts is a county elected official who serves as an officer of the court and the manager of court information. The Clerk administers the official court records for all trial court cases with jurisdiction in Whitley County, prepares the permanent historical records for the courts, and processes and issues various documents for court cases. As a member of the Election Board, the Clerk oversees, conducts and certifies the results for all federal, state, county, township, municipal, special, and school board elections.

NOTICE:  Effective 11/23/2020, until futher notice.  The Clerk's Office will be closed to the public except for the following:

Individuals wanting an Order of Protection or to apply for a Marriage License are authorized to come to the Clerk's Office.  You must start the marriage license process online at https://mycourts.in.gov/mlpublic/

Those wishing to make a payment, can follow the instructions below:

Child Support - No cash will be accepted.  Mail a Check or Money Order to INSCCU, PO Box 7130, Indianapolis, IN 46207-7130 OR pay online at https://childsupportbillpay.com/Payment/SelectEntity/368

Traffic Tickets - Mail or place a money order made out to "WHITLEY COUNTY CLERK, 101 W VAN BUREN ST, COLUMBIA CITY, IN 46725" in the drop box outside the north door of courthouse, pay online at https://public.access.courts.in.gov OR call 260-248-3103 to pay by phone.

Other Payments - Call 260-248-3102 to pay by phone OR mail or place a money order made out to "WHITLEY COUNTY CLERK, 101 W VAN BUREN ST, COLUMBIA CITY, IN 46725" Cash will not be accepted.

Those wishing to file a case:

Court forms are located at https://www.whitleygov.com/department/division.php?structureid=163.  Once forms are complete, you may either mail or place a money order made out to "WHITLEY COUNTY CLERK, 101 W VAN BUREN ST, COLUMBIA CITY, IN 46725" with the filing paperwork.  Call 260-248-3102 for questions.

  • Receipt court costs, fees and fines for all court cases
  • Collects and disburses Child Support payments
  • Collects costs and disburses judgment monies

  • Processes marriage applications and issues marriage license
  • Files and processes new cases for Civil, Criminal, Family Relations, Probate and Small Claims
  • Issues various court documents including arrest warrants, commitments, protective orders, service of process and writs
  • Maintains the Judgment Docket and Record of Judgments and Orders
  • Oversees the maintenance and microfilming of court records
  • Prepares certified copies of documents
  • Voter Registration
  • Conduct Elections
