PAYING FOR YOUR TRAFFIC TICKET

For the amount of your ticket, please click here. If you have received a ticket that is not listed or were cited for more than one offense, please contact the Whitley County Clerk's office at 260-248-3103. Your due date is 30 days from the date on the bottom of the ticket. This is NOT a Court date. If you would like a Court date, please see below. FAILURE TO COMPLY BY YOUR DUE DATE WILL RESULT IN THE SUSPENSION OF YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE AND AN ADDITIONAL $25.00 LATE FEE.

 

PAYMENT TYPES

CLERK'S OFFICE - We accept cash, money order or credit card (a fee applies).

MAIL - We only accept payment by Money Order. PERSONAL CHECKS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Include a copy of your ticket. To receive a receipt, send a S.A.S.E with your payment.

SETTING UP A COURT DATE

If you wish to deny your ticket you must do so prior to your due date. A denial form may be requested by contacting the Clerk's office at 260-248-3103 or you can click here for the form. The Clerk's office must receive the completed denial form on or before the ticket due date. This form is the ONLY way to request a Bench Trial. Upon receipt of the completed form, the Superior Court will set a date and time for your Bench Trial and a notice will be sent to the address on your denial form.

 

INFRACTION DEFERRAL PROGRAM

There is an Infraction Deferral Program for Speeding tickets that are 20 mph over the posted speed limit or less. It is not available for CDL license holders or holders of Probationary licenses. You will need to contact the Whitley County Prosecutor's Office at (260) 244-3000 to see if you qualify.

 

GETTING MY LICENSE REINSTATED

If your license has been sent for Suspension, you will first need to pay the ticket that is due in Whitley County. Once paid, we will submit notice to the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles the following business day.  For information about getting your license reinstated at the BMV, click here.
